Delhi Township
February 14, 2011

It’s often said that good things come in small packages. Well, that’s not the case at 1207 Neeb Rd. in Delhi Township. There, good things come in large packages — XL size. I was fortunate enough to tour the property, and I have to admit it made me want to move to the West Side of Cincinnati. I know you are all thinking blasphemy, but it’s true.

Hidden from the main road by a winding driveway, 1207 Neeb Rd. is enchanting even before you step inside. This 6,000 square foot home is a statement maker. Plus, it is only a hop, skip, and jump away from Western Hills Country Club.

You know the room that people may ooh and ahh about but rarely set foot in… yep, the living room. Well in this house, I just might make use of it. There is a massive and magnificent fireplace that encapsulates one of the walls. Frontgate used the mantle for its August 2008 catalog. In fact, the photographers were so impressed with the house, they featured a number of other rooms. Marble surrounds the fireplace’s opening, and the entire thing is offset by a gorgeous hardwood floor.

Next stop on this tour of goodness… the gourmet kitchen. I knew this home would be heaven for an epicurean, and my suspicions were proved right. A butler’s pantry/bar, lighted display shelves, breakfast bar, breakfast nook, Thermadoor warming drawer, sub-zero refrigerator, trash compactor, purified drinking faucet, and cherry cabinets… yeah, those are just a few of the kitchen’s features. The owners, the Basquettes, say they spend almost all of their time in this kitchen. I would too!

Only the master bedroom provides sleeping arrangements on the first floor. All the other bedrooms are hidden on the second floor, surrounded by amenities of their own.

A media room (i.e. movie theater), bar, den, and workout room fill out the second floor. This would be the perfect place for a teenager or a man cave.

And most of those rooms have a view of the beautiful backyard featuring a small creek and hundred year old bridge. Pretty nice.

So how much will buy you the key? The Basquettes are asking for $725,000 on the MLS, but that’s down from the over $800k they paid a few years back. With the kids out of the house, these empty nesters are looking to downgrade.

If you have an offer they can’t refuse, contact Jim Basquette, the owner. He is a realtor by trade – Jim@JimSellsHomes.com.
