After spending an hour gawking at Over-the-Rhine Cincinnati’s pinterest boards it doesn’t take much to fall in love with the Queen City. But if you are looking for something more tangible, how does a movie premiere satiate your hunger?
Leading interactive marketing agency Possible Worldwide and Ripple FX Films, along with the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Film Commission, announce the world premiere of Radius, a short game and crowd-sourced film shot in and around Cincinnati during the MidPoint Music Festival and other local arts events. The film premieres on Saturday, February 25, at Memorial Hall at a special red carpet event. Tickets are $25 each and are available HERE.
“We strongly believe that the arts are at the heart of every community,” said Jodi Schmidtgoesling, Eastern U.S. president of Possible Worldwide. “And that certainly rings true with us at Possible; the blend of creativity and technology is at the center of our DNA and at the heart of what we do for our clients every day. That’s why we committed to creating this first-of-its-kind movie experience to demonstrate the extent to which the arts help make Cincinnati a great place to live, work, and play.”
The majority of content was collected during the MidPoint Music Festival using the SCVNGR smartphone app. Those who completed the “What Is Radius” SCVNGR trek will receive free admission by wearing the shirt they were awarded at the end of the course. People were also invited to play games that created content during Final Friday and at the Emery Theatre’s 11.11.11 opening event.
“The Commission is excited to play a supporting role in introducing this film that shines a spotlight on filmmaking as part of the Cincinnati area arts community. Our artists and arts organizations make this a unique and special place, and we’re excited for people all over to know more about our region’s assets,” said Kristen Erwin, executive director of the Commission.
The evening begins at 7:30 p.m. with a red carpet experience and champagne reception, followed by the screening of the film at 8:15 p.m., with brief remarks by the producers and filmmakers. After the film, guests will enjoy food, drinks, dancing, and mingling, with special appearances by Cincinnati area artists dj pillo, the Cincinnati BombShells, Young Professionals’ Choral Collective, and Pones Inc.
Don’t miss out on what is sure to be a fantastic event!
