The best parties in the Queen City are the ones that transport their guests to a time or place far beyond the borders of Greater Cincinnati.

Such was the case at “Arabian Nights,” the recent CSO themed Party of Note hosted at the Apana-Kamath household in Indian Hill. Held to benefit the ongoing endowment of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, this party of note struck a sweet chord worthy of any sitar player.

About 40 guests spilled out into the garden at the back of the house for a night of Middle Eastern food, drink, and entertainment. Waiters floated through the crowd offering authentic noshable bites to complement signature cocktails created by Adhrucia Apana, the daughter of the hosts. Each of the drinks played off the summer season whilst mixing with invigorating Arabian flavors. As the sun went down, guests nibbled on kabobs, falafel, couscous, baklava, and more. Some even tried the hookah poolside.

Performers from Dante’s Gypsy Circus entranced guests in a belly dancing routine with moves that were way better than Mick Jagger. Following the hip shaking, the guests were treated to a fire throwing and fire breathing performance that thrilled as much as it enchanted.

Throughout the rest of the year, CSO will host several more parties of note around the Queen City. Chad Reynolds will open his home later this month for a Sinners and Saints Soiree. In August, the Mansion at Scarlet Oaks will play backdrop to a night of martinis, small bites, and tours. In early fall, CCM Dean Peter Landgren and his wife Judith Schonbach will open their home for an unforgettable night of food and friendship.
